St Ignatius Community Share Offer

We aim to pay interest on the shares at a rate of 4% per year from July 2020 and rising by 0.25% per year from July 2022 to a maximum 5% per year. 



Built in 1900 by Darbyshire & Smith. St Ignatius Centre's history links back to former early C19 infantry barracks.

The Centre

The Centre complex comprises the former St Ignatius Rectory and St Ignatius of Antioch former Church (Grade II Listed).

Share Offer

St Ignatius Centre shares shall be of £1 nominal value. The minimum shareholding required of a member shall be £100. 

About St Ignatius Community Centre

St Ignatius Centre (SIC) is a charitable community benefit society established to Conserve, protect, improve and manage the former St Ignatius Rectory and the St Ignatius of Antioch former Church Ordsall and make them available for use by the public, including use for;

training, meetings, lectures, seminars, conferences, exhibitions, fitness classes, workshop spaces, other social events; and.

other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation, with the objective of improving the conditions and life chances of the community members.

Use heritage, art and culture to improve social mobility and increase life chances for the community.

Promote social inclusion to prevent people from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into the society.

St Ignatius Centre Community Share Offer has been awarded Standard Mark. The Community Share Standard Mark is awarded by the Community Shares Unit to offers that meet national standards of good practice.

The Centre is one of few surviving works of Alfred Darbyshire (1839-1908) of regional and national importance that played prominent role in WWI and WWII memorial history.
